On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, the iconic Sella River once again hosted the 11th edition of the SPS Sella SUP River Race. This event, now a staple in the stand-up paddle (SUP) calendar, brought together numerous paddlers and enthusiasts who enjoyed a day filled with sport and nature.
The race kicked off at the Emilio Llamedo bridge in Arriondas and stretched 15 kilometers downstream to the San Román bridge in Llovio. Conditions on the river were ideal, allowing competitors to showcase their skills and endurance in a truly unique natural setting.
Top Performers
In the men’s division, Iván Puente Rodríguez, representing SUP Mera, claimed the overall victory, reinforcing his status as one of the top athletes in Spanish SUP. In the women’s division, Paula Rodríguez, also from SUP Mera, secured first place, proving her excellent form and technique on the Sella waters.
