Yesterday at Telenotícies cap de Semana de TV3 echoed the story of Manel Amat and his passion for paddle surfing. Manel discovered paddle surfing in 2019 while walking around Barceloneta when he discovered Espai de Mar and he met Helena Ribas, who would become his coach. Since then they have formed a tandem together in which they learn from each other.
According to Amat, “Sport in the case of people with functional diversity has two aspects: one reinforces that musculature and those capacities that we have and the other part of rehabilitation. There is also an integrating part of socialization and obviously, sport provides the same benefits that it can bring to people who do not have any type of disability. ”

Según Amat, “El deporte en el caso de personas con diversidad funcional tiene dos vertientes: una reforzar aquella musculatura y aquellas capacidades que tenemos y la otra parte de rehabilitación. También hay una parte integradora de sociabilización y evidentemente, el deporte proporciona los mismos beneficios que pueden aportar a las personas que no tengan ningún tipo de discapacidad.”
